Dear Parents / Carers
Covid-19 Trust School Position
Following the announcement by the Government last night to extend the current 'lockdown', I wanted to provide an update on the Trust's position. The guidance from the Government is very clear that, unless it is absolutely essential, all children and adults should stay at home during the period of lockdown. Schools are providing a very limited service to support the children of Key Workers and the most vulnerable (at risk) over the next few weeks.
The Trust currently has 55% of staff unavailable due to: illness, social distancing or shielding. School staff are working incredibly hard to support pupils whilst ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all pupils and staff. Once the availability of staff across the Trust and partner agencies becomes sustainable and the Government alters guidance, schools plan to extend the support offered.
The Trust continues to meet regularly with the Local Authority to discuss our offer to safely implement the Government guidance at a local level. Schools are additionally in constant communication with: Social Care, Health, Parents, Carers and Pupils and this will continue to be the case. Should your position change or you have any questions, require advice, information or support, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Staff will endeavour to answer your queries and provide further information.
Please can I remind you to look at the School / Trust websites for the most up-to-date and accurate information. If you are still unclear, please contact your school.
Yours sincerely
Guy Chappell
